Before her California Dreams tour though, Katy Perry began a demanding new exercise and weight reduction plan to help her get into touring shape. Katy was determined to get into shape and to look her best when she came face to face with the thousands of adoring fans.
To help her attain her goals, she started a special meal regimen. She told Rolling Stone magazine about her approach, saying, “After this interview I’m going to have a nice healthy breakfast. I’m on a meal plan which absolutely sucks.” However, she did admit to allowing herself a cheat day, saying, “On Sundays I get to have a cheat day where I go buck wild and eat In-N-Out Burger.” After her cheat though, she does not just lay around and indulge in laziness. She said, “Then I’ll work out, go to a vocal lesson, run through the entire set at rehearsals, go to dance rehearsal until 10:00 p.m. and then go home and sort through emails concerning the production. I feel like I’m training for the Olympics!”
The star showed her resolve about avoiding sweets by Twitter post. She posted a photograph of a gummy bear stabbed through it’s middle, saying, “Big ass gummy bear? NOT on the meal plan… But I sure did show him! STFU gummy bear!” Katy maintains her curves by working out, saying she loves jumping rope. “I hate working out, but I love jumping rope. There’s a rhythm. It’s like dancing. I can double jump; I can cross. I can do all of it. I look like Rocky when I jump rope.” She follows an organic food diet. She eats five small meals a day that consist of lean proteins, such as boneless skinless chicken breasts and fish, as well as fruits and vegetables.
Perry does a 25 minute circuit workout that incorporates cardio exercises, ab work and upper and lower body strength training. Getting a body like Katy Perry’s and maintaining a good weight is hard work. There is no miracle drug that will do it for you. You have to sweat and eat right. Time on a treadmill will help you start out slow and work your way up to more intensive workouts. Lunges and squats will tone your lower body and cardio and light strength training will make you lean and shapely instead of bulky.
